Articulation Program
Articulation is muscle memory learned within a hierarchy. The more you put in, the more you get out. That’s where our carefully curated articulation program comes in.
The first phase of this program is in-person weekly articulation therapy to practice and ensure all of the sounds we’re targeting are 100% accurate in isolation and in syllables. If we build on top of a rocky foundation, the sounds won’t generalize to connected speech.
The second phase is just as crucial, and is done virtually for ease of treatment with busy kids and busy schedules to work with. Articulation therapy is muscle-memory and research has shown that more frequent drill-work yields faster, more effective results. Each week you schedule two or three, 20 minute virtual drill sessions for your child at your convenience: at home, on the go, on the sidelines, between rehearsals, you name it.
The third and final phase is the carry over phase. Once the target sounds have reached the top level, conversation, we move on to carry over and phase out sessions. Also done virtually, these take place weekly, then bi-weekly, and then monthly to ensure generalization.
